We have had another phenomenal week at the Bakery so a big thanks to everyone for their support!
Some new products available this week have included sun-blush tomato, olive and caramelised onion mini breads, we also had some chilli and olive sourdoughs!
Finally, we added some savoury breads with tomato, pesto & mozzarella and haggis & sweet potato!

Hello Winifred – many thanks for the feedback. You are quite right we have been adjusting our recipes – but this is now done and the wholemeal and our other breads should now be consistently good. Janet
On 4 April I bought a ‘small wholemeal’ that was so truly irresistible I put a photo of it on my Facebook page. The ‘small wholemeal’ I bought yesterday (15 May) is equally irresistible.
However, I also got ‘small wholemeal’ loaves in the third week of April and on 8 May which were no better than ordinary. Their cut surface was very smooth and they had an acrid taste.
Are you using different flours? If so, please give them different names, PLEASE.

Bought some of your new patisserie today. First rate. The tarte au citron was nice and sharp. The macaron was very tasty with a good pied and soft insides. The last item had no obvious name; it was a little tartlet with custardy filling, very good raspberries and topped with a macaron. All very classy bits of baking. As someone said to me (and you MUST take this the right way) “you would never know these were from Dunbar”.
This is a very good step forward for the bakery. Please keep the standard up with these new items which taste excellent, and worth a special trip to the bakery
Well done!
Belhaven Sourdough is more like it! Even better when its made with organic flour!
Savoury breads and olive bread are FANTASTIC. Keep up the good work.
